You do not have to be artistic to benefit from exploring your relationship with yourself and life in this way.
Some people find this is an effective way to connect with their experience, understand and find answers to their problems. It can be appealing as an alternative or complementary approach to conversation based talking therapy. Different media can be used both in session and between sessions for insight and reflection.
Art materials, writing and journaling, collage, clay sand tray and figurines, drama, music and body movement are examples of imaginative activities that can be incredibly powerful in helping to make sense of what you wish to explore and support meaningful change. This can be enjoyable and effective within both online and in person contexts.
